John W. Weeks, age 90, of Upper Darby, PA, passed away on October 7, 2019.

John was a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II in the Pacific battle front.  He had been employed as an exterminator for many years.

John was a 36 year member of the Cardington Stonehurst Fire Company joining in 1983.

John served as a firefighter, Fire Police Lieutenant and Captain, a delegate to the Delaware County Firemen’s Association and the Pennsylvania State Firemen’s Association as well as a Board of Director for many years.

John was also associated with the 7th and 8th District Fire Police serving as Fire Police Commissioner at one point. John also served with the Delaware County Fire Police Association and the Pennsylvania State Fire Police Association.

He was a member of the Archer Epler VFW Post 979 in Upper Darby.

John was predeceased by his beloved wife, Marion S. Weeks (nee Kuhn).   He is survived by his loving children James E. Weeks (Marybeth), John D. Weeks, Barbara Puliti (Joseph), William T. Weeks, Debby Weeks and Sharon Cahill (John).  Also survived by 17 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Sunday, October 13, 2019 6:00-8:00 PM and Monday, October 14, 2019 10:00-11:00 AM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 8401 West Chester Pike (cor. Lynn Blvd.), Upper Darby, PA (610) 449-0300 and to his Funeral Service at 11:00 AM.  Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675 or to the Cardington-Stonehurst Fire Company, 350 Harrison Road, Upper Darby, PA 19082 would be appreciated.
